How to Unpack Implicit Bias. Participants will learn how biases can appear in everyday situations and in the classroom. The purpose and focus of this webinar is to identify short term and long term building blocks to create equity in the world we live in, put our student's needs at the forefront, and learn that change is an option.


Instructor Information


Bridgette M. Collins-George - Bridgette is currently the Director of Community Corrections in Hendricks County, Indiana. She has over 20 years experience working in corrections, with all populations, on the front line with inmates as well as administrative duties. She graduated from Butler University with a BA in Psychology and is passionate about being the voice to the voiceless. She is also a certified Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Auditor for the Department of Justice to ensure correctional facilities and those within are safe from sexual assault and sexual harassment while serving a sentence. In her spare time, she volunteers for multiple local Emergency Crisis Response Teams through training and certifications by FEMA. In 2019, she became an Implicit Bias Awareness Facilitator after completing a year-long institute that was coordinated and hosted by Indiana JDAI, which is part of the Indiana Office of Court Services through the Indiana Supreme Court.
