Description:

The key to improving behavior management skills is to understand the forces driving behavior and how educators can influence those forces to improve educational outcomes for students. This webinar integrates foundational principles of behavior, proactive behavior management, and crisis intervention strategies as well as best practices for data collection and determining efficacy will be provided.

Presenters:

Brittany Zehr Ed.S., NCSP is the Director of Clinical Quality for K-12 Autism and Behavior Services. She is a school psychologist by training and has 15+ years working with children and adults with emotional and behavioral disorders across a variety of settings, including residential facilities, prisons, alternative schools, and comprehensive elementary and secondary schools. She is a past president of the Delaware Association of School Psychologists and was actively involved in advocacy for increased mental health support for students at both the local and state level. She is passionate about mental wellness and supporting our students and the educators that work with them.

Bethany Young M.S., BCBA, has a strong background in supporting both students and staff in classrooms. She has worked with children through adults with varying disabilities across different settings. Bethany has worked with both public and charter schools to implement systems of efficiency to maximize student achievement including staff professional development, organizational support, IEP development, and more. She brings her experience as a Board

  2. Identify proactive, positive behavior interventions and supports to minimize challenging behaviors from occurring in the educational setting.
  3. Recognize the phases of escalation (PoE) and identify interventions at each phase.
  4. List the components of sound data collection systems to ensure the effectiveness of implemented interventions
