Description:

Ethical decision making for speech-language pathologists involves many factors. Utilizing an ethical decision-making model helps standardize the process. This webinar will focus on the application of an ethical decision-making model that can be used by speech-language pathologists working in a public-school setting.

Presenter:

Dr. David Irwin, CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, has done publishing and professional presentations regarding ethics education for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. He has presented a webinar for ASHA regarding ethical decision making and is co-author of the book “Ethics for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists: An Illustrative Casebook” (2007). He has worked in different professional settings including public and charter schools, hospitals, home health, and university settings. Dr. Irwin is currently co-author of the 4th edition of a book “Clinical Research Methods in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology”. He is a Professor of Communication Disorders, School of Allied Health, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA.
